Second Semester B.Ed. Curriculum: Criticism/ Demonstration Classes Week 2025

As per the B.Ed.  curriculum of the University of Kerala, the criticism/demonstration classes were arranged from 20th January to 27th January 2025 at the College and the Bishop Hodges Higher Secondary School, Mavelikara. The students of various option papers explored this criticism and demonstration classes as the opportunity to improve their teaching skills with the help of pedagogical knowledge of the subject matter. The optional teachers highlight the criticism of the students to improve their teaching to shape them as good teachers. 76th Republic Day Celebrations 2025

The National Service Scheme of the Peet Memorial Training College organised the 76th Republic Day celebrations at the college in the presence of Dr. Mumtas, the NSS Programme officer of the college, on 26th January at 09:00 am. She unfurled the national flag and sang patriotic songs, including Jana Gana Mana and Vande Mataram . She delivered a speech regarding maintaining national integration and harmony among the diversity in our country. The programme ended at 10 am.

Malinjamuktha Navakeralam Campeign: Anti Dumping Week 2025

The Government of Kerala initiated the Malinja Muktha Navakeralam Padathi  (Litter Free Kerala Campaign), which was a joint initiative of Haritha Kerala Mission, Suchitha Mission, and local body institutions in Kerala.  The objectives of the campaign include making a hassle-free and viable waste management system, promoting the habit of reusing and recycling, promoting nature-friendly alternatives, initiating legal action against unscientific and unhealthy waste dumping practices, and encouraging best waste management practices. As per the notification from the University of Kerala (represented by Dr Biju V, Director-in-charge of College Development Council), No. 48534/CDC/2023/UOK, dated 07.01.2025, the Malinja Muktha Navakeralam Campaign team of the Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, in association with the National Service Scheme of the College organised the Anti-Dumping Week campaign on the second week of January 2025. As per the B.Ed. Curriculum, the seminar presentation of the EDU 09.10 on the topic 'Need for Social Science Laboratory Concept of Time Sense and Place Sense in Social Science Learning' was held on 13th January 2025. The content of the seminar is as follows:  

National Youth Day: Special Talk on Role of Youth in Nation Building

The National Youth Day was observed on 12 January 2025. The SOPHITS Social Science Association, in association with the National Service Scheme unit of the Peet Memorial Training College, observed National Youth Day on 13 January 2025, at the College Auditorium at 11:00 am. Aswani L, a second-semester B.Ed. Social Science student, delivered a talk on "Special Talk on the Role of Youth in Nation Building." She emphasised that the youth should come forward to remove hurdles faced by society and our nation with determination, tolerance, and cooperation. She emphasised how Swami Vivekananda was initiated to awaken the people, especially the country's younger generation. The younger generation should be committed to society and the nation to eradicate social evils. Joyal Joseph welcomed the programme and Arya A.R., the student coordinator of the National Service Scheme, delivered the vote of thanks to the session.

Second Semester: Micro Teaching- Skill of Stimulus Variation

The microteaching for the first semester B.Ed. social science students were held on November 18, 2024, at pm. Five of the 10 student teachers acted as observers in the presence of Mr. Unni M, the social science lecturer. The author taught the skill of stimulus variation on the topic 'Social Groups'.
