CIRCULAR ON ONAM VACATION

The University of Kerala published the circular that declared the Onam vacation from the evening of August  29 to the morning of September 9  to all affiliated colleges and  University departments/centres.

  25.08.2025-27.08.2025 As per the mail from the Peet Memorial Training College, the principals and the headmasters/headmistresses relieved the teacher trainees from the schools for college-based activities from August 25 to 28. The First Terminal Examination was conducted during these days.  28.08.2025 :   The Government of Kerala declared a public holiday for the Ayyankali Jayanthi.   Day 24: 29.08.2025 (Friday) The Onam celebration of the Mahatma Boys' Higher Secondary School, Chennithala, was held on this day. The celebration started with the preparation of pookalam, followed by singing Onam songs, nadanpatt, and vanchipatt.  The musical chair competition was held during the Onam celebration in Upper Primary, High School, and the teachers' sections. The Nasik doll performance was arranged by the Higher Secondary section as part of the Onam celebration, and students danced to the Nasik doll beat. PEET ONAM POWER ONAM: ONAM CELEBRATION 2025

The Dyuthi College Union organised the Onam celebration " Peet Onam Power Onam " on August 27, 2025, at the College Auditorium. The Onam programme started with the students preparing pookalam from 9 am. The official Onam programmes started at 11 am with dance and music performances by the students. The Malayali Manka and Kerala Sreeman competitions were also held as part of the Onam celebration. Krishnaraj (second-year M.Ed. student) secured first in Kerala Sreeman, and Mekha (first-year B.Ed.) secured Malayali Manka of the Year. The Onamsadhya was served at the Mathematics option classroom at 02:00 pm for students, teachers, and non-teaching staff. After Onamsadhya, the prize announcement and distribution for Arts, Sports,  Malayali Manka,  and  Kerala Sreeman  competitions by the teachers. LIGHTS CAMERA FRESHERS: FRESHERS DAY

The Pedagogiezz (B.Ed. Batch 2024-2026) organised the freshers day " Lights Camera Freshers" for the newly joined B.Ed. Students at the Peet Memorial Training College on  August 26, 2025, at 10:30 am at the College Auditorium. The Pedagogiezz welcomed the juniors with cultural activities and tasks for juniors in the film theme. Dr. Alie Molly Verghis (Principal) and other teachers led the programme.  

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE I: WEEK 5: FIRST TERMINAL EXAMINATION (18.08.2025-22.08.2025)

TIME TABLE FOR HIGH SCHOOL SECTION  Day 19:  18.08.2025 (Monday) On the instructions of the Department of General Education, Government of Kerala, the First Terminal Examination has commenced today. I entered the school at 09:45 am and signed my attendance for the forenoon session. I entered the student teacher room, and I had a casual talk with other student teachers. Today I don't have any exam duty, and I was tense because my class (Class IX B) is going to write my subject, Social Science. During the forenoon, I had completed my school-based activity on EDU 12, and I went to various classes for a round in the school. At 11:15 am, we met the school headmistress to discuss future plans. I met some students after the exam to know about their feelings during the examination.  T hen I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:15 pm to 12:25 pm (first time) and 12:45 pm to 12:55 pm, and we had lunch in the student-teacher staff room.  ...

  DAY 14: 11.08.2025 It was the first day of my fourth week of the school internship. I entered the school at 9:10 a.m., signed my attendance register, and went to the student-teacher staff room. We sang the prayer song at 09:30 am. During the first period, I had a substitution period at Class VII A, and students engaged in their academic activities. During the second period, I again entered Class VII A, and I brought them to the school ground for physical education. Students played cricket and football during this period. During the third period, I had another substitution at Class VI A, and students engaged in their academic activities. In the fourth period, I introduced a new chapter title, "In the Expansive Plain," which is under the Social Science II book. The first topic regarding this chapter is the formation of the North Indian Plains (more popularly known as the Indo-Gangetic-Brahmaputra Plains). 79TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2024 at Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara. Flag hoisting was done at 9 am by Mr. K.R. Muralidharan (Former Chairman, Mavelikara Municipality), and he delivered a speech regarding the importance of freedom and how teachers can be involved in the nation-building process. After flag hoisting, a series of programs, such as the Patriotic Song Competition and Quiz Competition, were conducted as part of Independence Day. Dr. Alie Molly Verghis presided over the programme, and Dr. Sony Mary Varghese (staff secretary), Dr. Mumtas S. (NSS staff coordinator), and Mrs. Reshma Raveendran (social science optional teacher) felicitated the session. Many non-teaching staff and students attended today's programme. 

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1: WEEK 3 (04.08.2025-08.08.2025)

 DAY 09: 04.08.2025 It was the first day of my third week of school internship. I entered the school at 9:20 a.m., signed my attendance register, and went to the student-teacher staff room. In the first period, I spent time writing my lesson plan for the upcoming days. Mary Chanchal arrived with her mother. She taught the class for Class VIII B for the natural science class during the second period, and they met the headmistress, and they left the school. In the second period, I had a substitute for Class VII A, and I accompanied the students to the school ground for physical education with the help of the school headmistress. The student played games, namely cricket and football, from 10:10 am to 11 am. During the third period, I spent time completing the lesson plan. My first class of the week was held during fourth period from 11:50 am to 12:30 pm at Class IX B on the topic "Indian Federalism" under the chapter "Distribution of Powers in the Indian Constitution,...

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1: WEEK 2 (28.07.2025 TO 01.08.2025)

DAY 4: 28.07.2025 (Monday) I entered the school at 09:25 am, and I had signed my forenoon attendance in the headmistress's room. Followed by the prayer song by the student teachers at 09:30 am. We initially discussed the overall arrangement of the teaching practice for the day, and then I prepared last-minute arrangements for Mary Chanchal's PPT during the first period. During the 2nd & 3rd periods and the morning interval, I prepared notes to answer questions in a competition for Class IX B students in both English and Malayalam. The fourth period is my social science class for Class IX B to discuss the topic " Factors Affecting Human Resource Formation" under the chapter Human Resources for National Development. I tried to provide the content with the most connected and simple examples that related to the topic in each factor, such as education, health, migration, job training, and access to information.
