TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE I: WEEK 5: FIRST TERMINAL EXAMINATION (18.08.2025-22.08.2025)

TIME TABLE FOR HIGH SCHOOL SECTION

 Day 19: 18.08.2025 (Monday)

On the instructions of the Department of General Education, Government of Kerala, the First Terminal Examination has commenced today. I entered the school at 09:45 am and signed my attendance for the forenoon session. I entered the student teacher room, and I had a casual talk with other student teachers. Today I don't have any exam duty, and I was tense because my class (Class IX B) is going to write my subject, Social Science. During the forenoon, I had completed my school-based activity on EDU 12, and I went to various classes for a round in the school. At 11:15 am, we met the school headmistress to discuss future plans. I met some students after the exam to know about their feelings during the examination. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:15 pm to 12:25 pm (first time) and 12:45 pm to 12:55 pm, and we had lunch in the student-teacher staff room. After lunch, Mary Chanchal and I signed the attendance for today's afternoon. During the afternoon, we spent the entire time completing college-related activities, verifying the draft project report, and analysing the question paper of the Class IX Social Science text. From 03:00 pm onwards, we had a disciplinary duty with Abhija (St. Mary's Women's College for Teacher Education, Thiruvalla). Our discipline duty ended at 03:45 pm, and we left the school at 03:50 pm.


                                                           Day  20: 19.08.2025 (Tuesday)

It was the second day of the fifth week of our school internship. I entered the school at 09:45 am and signed my attendance for the forenoon session. I entered the student teacher room, and I had a casual talk with other student teachers. Today I don't have any exam duty. I spent the time trying to write the first lesson plan on health education based on the Class IX textbook and writing my social science lesson plan. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:15 pm to 12:25 pm. At 12:30 pm, the arrangements for the School Parliament election were started with Jayadev G. (HST Hindi & Returning Officer, High School level). The first meeting of the School Parliament was held at 12:45 pm, with a welcome by Jayadev G., welcomed by Vijayalekshmi K. (Headmistress), and returning officers from the upper primary and the higher secondary levels remarked on the felicitation address. After the election, newly elected office bearers take an oath in the presence of the headmistress. Due to the school parliament election, I was late eating my lunch, and it was completed at 01:45 pm. Then I spent time completing the school parliament-related records. At 03:00 pm, we had a disciplinary duty with Ansu (St. Mary's Women's College for Teacher Education, Thiruvalla). Our discipline duty ended at 03:45 pm, and we left the school at 03:50 pm.





Day 21: 20.08.2025 (Wednesday)

It was the third day of the fifth week of our school internship. I entered the school at 09:45 am and signed my attendance for the forenoon session. I entered the student teacher room, and I had a casual talk with other student teachers. Today I don't have any exam duty. I spent the time trying to write the second lesson plan on health education based on the Class IX textbook and preparing PowerPoint presentations for the upcoming classes. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:00 pm to 12:25 pm. After that, we had lunch with other teacher trainees, and we signed the afternoon attendance after lunch. Then I resumed my work till 03:00 pm. We had a disciplinary duty with Mary Chanchal. Our discipline duty ended at 03:45 pm, and we left the school at 03:50 pm.
 

Day 22: 21.08.2025 (Thursday)

It was the fourth day of the fifth week of our school internship. I entered the school at 09:45 am and signed my attendance for the forenoon session. I entered the student teacher room, and I had a casual talk with other student teachers. Today I don't have any exam duty. I spent the time trying to write the notes. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:00 pm to 12:25 pm. After that, we had lunch with other teacher trainees, and we signed the afternoon attendance after lunch. Then I resumed my work till 03:00 pm. We had a disciplinary duty. Our discipline duty ended at 03:45 pm, and we left the school at 03:50 pm.

Day 23: 22.08.2025 (Friday)

It was the fourth day of the fifth week of our school internship. I entered the school at 09:45 am and signed my attendance for the forenoon session. I entered the student teacher room, and I had a casual talk with other student teachers. Today I had an exam duty for a few minutes at Class VIII C. I spent the time trying to write the notes. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:00 pm to 12:25 pm. After that, we had lunch with other teacher trainees, and we signed the afternoon attendance after lunch. Then I resumed my work till 03:00 pm. Dr. Mumtas S., Assistant Professor of the Peet Memorial Training College, arrived at the school and had a conversation with the headmistress and us till 03:45 pm. We left the school at 03:50 pm. On the notice from the college principal, Mary Chanchal and I are going to return to the college for college-related activities and for Onam vacation.

Handover of Newspaper and Comic Book Subscriptions to AOMLP School, Mavelikara

On August 5, 2024, the NSS Unit of Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, gave A O M M LPS, Mavelikara, newspaper and comic book subscriptions. On August 5, 2024, the NSS Unit and Extension Cell of Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, extended their support to a community school by giving AOMMLPS, Mavelikara, subscriptions to newspapers and comic books. Together, all of the NSS volunteers planned this event. The honourable guest, Shri. Varghese Pothen officially opened a reading corner. At 10:30 am, the schoolchildren performed a prayer song to kick off the event. Rev. C.I. Jose then blessed the occasion. The event was opened by Shri.  The B.Ed. Course 2024-2026 inauguration ceremony was held at Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, on 29th July 2024. The session started at 10.30 am. Former Principal Dr. Jiby George inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Rev. C.I. Jose gave the presidential address. A brief introduction to the B.Ed. The programme was delivered by Principal Alie Mollie Verghis. A talk on Fluent Futures Communicative English was given by Ms. Archana B (Alumni and Communicative English Trainer. Felicitation was given by Aji M, Josekutty and Sangeeth S Kini. Parvathy K Pillai extended a formal vote of thanks.

"SNEHAKOOTTE" Old Age Home Visit

The National Service Scheme of the Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara organised Snehakootte, the Old age home visit to Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed at Haripad on 25th September 2024 at 10:30 am. Mr Shameer Muhammed, the Director of Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed, Haripad welcomed all volunteers and introduced the Gandhi Bhavan and its inmates. Dr Mumtas S, Programme Officer, Mr Biju David (LD Clerk, Peet Memorial Training College) and Arya A.R. (NSS Student Coordinator) delivered speeches. The Volunteers of the NSS initiated activities such as music, experience sharing, games, speeches and mimicry with the inmates of Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed. The NSS volunteers collected some goods for the inmates of Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed and it was distributed to the inmates. The NSS volunteers, College officials, inmates and other guests joined together for the lunch and the programme was ended with the Inter-faith prayer. The Oath Taking Ceremony of newly elected office bearers of Dhuthi (ദ്യുതി) College Union of the Peet Memorial Training College was held on 7th November 2024 at the College Auditorium at 10:30 am. Dr Sony Mary Varghese, the Assistant Professor and the Union Advisor delivered an introductory address and announced newly elected members of the College Union. Mr Sefon Sanu Mathew took oath as the Chairman of the College Union administered by Dr Alie Molly Verghis, the College Principal. The oath/affirmation of other office bearers was administered by Mr Sefon Sanu Mathew, the College Union Chairman. Seven out of 15 officers including the Chairman took oath in the name of God and eight out of 15 took into office as affirmation. Second Semester B.Ed. Field Trip Travelogue @ Vagamon

The field trip for the second semester of the B.Ed. Curriculum was a visit to Vagamon and Paruthumpara on 12th June 2025, organised by the  Pedagogiezz (B.Ed. Batch 2024-2026)   of the Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara. The journey started at 05:25 am from the college. Sefon Sanu Mathew and Joyal Joseph were the trip coordinators, and Dr Sony Mary Varghese, Dr. Mumtas S., and Dr. Velayudhan T. Nair are the escorting teachers for this field trip.  The field trip package was arranged by Thrilok Holidays & Packages, Komalloor, Chunakara. The trip started with a prayer by Joyal Joseph (batch representative of the Dyuthi College Union) after taking attendance. As per the B.Ed. Curriculum, the School Induction Programme was held from 7th October to 14th October 2024. The Induction Programme for me was allotted at the Mahatma High School for Girls, Chennithala in the Alappuzha District with 6 other student teachers. The School Induction Programme is the programme that helps to a series of events and activities that help new student teachers adjust to their new school environment. The School Induction Programme is the opportunity to acquaint with the school environment and its functioning.  This helps the new aspirants by providing information, resources, and motivation to make them more professional and efficient in that field.
