TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1: WEEK 2 (28.07.2025 TO 01.08.2025)

DAY 4: 28.07.2025 (Monday)

I entered the school at 09:25 am, and I had signed my forenoon attendance in the headmistress's room. Followed by the prayer song by the student teachers at 09:30 am. We initially discussed the overall arrangement of the teaching practice for the day, and then I prepared last-minute arrangements for Mary Chanchal's PPT during the first period. During the 2nd & 3rd periods and the morning interval, I prepared notes to answer questions in a competition for Class IX B students in both English and Malayalam. The fourth period is my social science class for Class IX B to discuss the topic " Factors Affecting Human Resource Formation" under the chapter Human Resources for National Development. I tried to provide the content with the most connected and simple examples that related to the topic in each factor, such as education, health, migration, job training, and access to information. My social science teacher, Jyothi Teacher, observed my class, and the bell rang at  12:30 p,m, and I went to serve lunch for students. Then we (student teachers) had lunch, and we signed the attendance for the afternoon session. The fifth and sixth periods we spent preparing the blog and making preparations for upcoming classes. In the seventh period, my friend and student teacher, Mary Chanchal C.R., conducted a quiz competition organised by Red Ribbons for the school-level competition and to participate in the Alappuzha District-wise, and I assisted her with the quiz programme. I again went to Class IX B for the substitution, where I revised the topic that I already taught today. Then today's class concluded at 03:45 pm with the National Anthem, and we left the school at 03:50 pm. 

DAY 5:29.07.2025 (Tuesday)

It was the second day of the second week of my school internship; I entered the school at 09:20 am, and I went to the headmistress's room to sign my forenoon attendance. Then I went to the student teachers' room and settled down for a while. Then we went to sing the prayer song at 09:30 am. Then we returned to our room and prepared notes, a blog, and a PowerPoint presentation. As per the timetable, I have no class today, but I'm waiting to get a substitution for Class IX B to get the opportunity to provide notes for the previous classes. Then, during the second period, I got a substitution for Class X A, and I observed the study activities of the students during this period. I had an exam duty shared with Karthika (a teacher trainee from St. Mary's Women's College for Teacher Education) for the Social Science exam for Class IX B and a substitution period at Class IX A till 12:30 pm. During lunch, we served lunch to the students, and we had eaten lunch too. During the afternoon, we used the opportunity to discuss future developments and complete notes till 3:40. The school working day came to an end at 03:45 pm with the national anthem sung by me, and we left the school after the permission of the headmistress. 

DAY 6:30.07.2025 (Wednesday)

It was the third day of the second week of my school internship; I entered the school at 09:20 am, and I went to the headmistress's room to sign my forenoon attendance. Then I went to the student teachers' room and settled down for a while. Then we went to sing the prayer song at 09:30 am. Then we returned to our room and prepared notes, a blog, and a PowerPoint presentation. At 10 am, the whole school commemorated the one year of the Puthumala tragedy with a minute of silence and prayer. As part of the instruction of the headmistress, I went to Class VII A for the substitution. At that time, students were engaged in writing notes, drawing, reading textbooks, etc. In the meantime, the headmistress entered Class VII A, and she talked to the students about recent complaints against the school. In the third period, I spent time completing lesson plans and blog writing. In the fourth period, my class was held at Class IX B to teach about the 'Challenges regarding Human Capital Formation' under the chapter Human Resources for National Development. Poverty and unemployment are the two challenges regarding human capital formation. I tried to teach every aspect of the topic till 12:30 am. Due to noisy disturbance, I make every student stand up till the end of the class. My social science teacher, Jyothi Teacher, observed my class. During lunch, we served lunch to the students, and we had eaten lunch too. During the fifth period, I used to write a blog and notes. During the sixth period, I utilised my second social science class by providing questions related to the completed chapter, Human Resources for National Development, and the Jyothi teacher also helped to provide questions for Malayalam medium students. During the seventh and last period, the student teachers initiated the KPSTA Independence Swadeshi Mega Quiz: High School Level Preliminary Test for 18 students (3 each in each class). Today's working day came to an end with the National Anthem at 03:45 pm, and we left the school with permission.

DAY 7: 31.07.2025 (Thursday)

It was the fourth day of the second week. I entered the school at 09:15 am, and I signed the forenoon attendance in the headmistress's room. Then I went to the student teachers' room and settled down for a while, and we discussed some plans related to today's programme. Today, the school organised a  School Assembly mainly initiated by the Standard VI A students from 09:30 am to 09:55 am. The headmistress provided instructions to the students and distributed prizes to the winners of various games and competitions. After the assembly, we got the substitution list, and we decided to divide each one into a different class. I spend time writing some notes and preparing for upcoming classes during the second and third periods. In the fourth period, I visited Class IX B and introduced a new chapter title, "Distribution of Power in the Indian Constitution." Today, I tried to teach the importance of objective resolution and the Preamble of the Constitution. The class ended at 12:30 pm, and I went to distribute lunch for the students, and we had lunch. During the afternoon, I signed the afternoon attendance, and initially, I engaged in college-related internship activities, and I went to an invigilation duty at the Class X B Malayalam midterm test on the 6th period. In the last two periods, I engaged in writing a blog and a lesson plan record, and we sang the National Anthem at 03:45 pm. We left the school at 03:50 pm with the permission of the headmistress.

DAY 08: 01.08.2025 (Friday)

It was the final day of the second week of the school internship. I entered the school at 09:15 am, and I signed the forenoon attendance in the headmistress's room. Then I went to the student teachers' room and settled down for a while, and we discussed some plans related to today's programme. In the first two periods, I used to prepare PowerPoint presentations for the upcoming classes. In the third class, I used to provide notes for the Class IX B Social Science II, and it continued in the fourth period too. The class ended at 12:30 pm, and I went to distribute lunch for the students, and we had lunch. During the afternoon, I signed the afternoon attendance, and initially, I engaged in college-related internship activities. Some students gave me notes on what they had written in the last few days. I just read it, and I showed these books to Jyothi teacher, my social science teacher. During the 7th period, I returned the notebooks to the respective persons and told others to bring notes on Monday. The school closed at 03:30 pm and we left the school at this time.
