Malinjamuktha Navakeralam Campeign: Anti Dumping Week 2025
The Government of Kerala initiated the Malinja Muktha Navakeralam Padathi (Litter Free Kerala Campaign), which was a joint initiative of Haritha Kerala Mission, Suchitha Mission, and local body institutions in Kerala. The objectives of the campaign include making a hassle-free and viable waste management system, promoting the habit of reusing and recycling, promoting nature-friendly alternatives, initiating legal action against unscientific and unhealthy waste dumping practices, and encouraging best waste management practices.
As per the notification from the University of Kerala (represented by Dr Biju V, Director-in-charge of College Development Council), No. 48534/CDC/2023/UOK, dated 07.01.2025, the Malinja Muktha Navakeralam Campaign team of the Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, in association with the National Service Scheme of the College organised the Anti-Dumping Week campaign on the second week of January 2025. The NSS volunteers and the Malinja Muktha Navakeralam Campaign leaders actively engaged in the activities of the Anti-Dumping Week campaign by distributing notices and making people aware of maintaining neat and tidy both public and private premises.
As part of the anti-dumping campaign, the flash mob and group song of the theme song of Malinja Muktha Navakeralam Campaign was organised on 14th January 2025. Mr. Biju David, LD clerk of the college and social worker, inaugurated the session. Dr. Sony Mary Varghese, principal-in-charge, presided over the session. Dr. Renjany K.R. (Co-ordinator of Malinja Muktha Nava Keralam Campaign) and Dr. Mumtas S. (NSS Programme Officer) lead the Anti-Dumping Week campaign.
