COMATICS: Commerce & Mathematics Association Inauguration 2K24
The COMEX (Commerce Association) and NUMINA (Mathematics Association) of the Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, jointly conducted an association inauguration titled 'COMATICS 2K24' on October 2024 at 10 am at the College Auditorium. The inauguration of both associations was inaugurated by Dr. Alie Molly Verghis, the college principal. The programme started with the prayer song by the college choir. Ms. Aiswarya M., Secretary of the Mathematics Association, delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Renginy K.R., the teacher-in-charge of commerce, delivered the presidential address. Dr. Alie Molly Verghis delivered the keynote address and inaugurated both associations. She told the importance of mathematics as the base subject of all other subjects of the universe and also expressed her delight in arranging both associations: COMEX and NUMINA, inauguration hand-in-hand, which showed the correlation of mathematics with other subjects. She also highlighted the importance of commerce in our daily lives. A logo of the Mathematics Association was revealed during the programme. Mr. Sefon Sanu Mathew (Chairperson, the College Union), Ms. Vismaya Vinod (Vice-Chairperson, the College Union), and Mr. Joyal Joseph (Batch Representative 2024-2026) felicitated the programme. Ms. Arya A.R. (Treasurer, Commerce Association) delivered a vote of thanks on the session.
After official inauguration, the first semester B.Ed. students of Commerce and Mathematics conducted a programme named "Hello Leader Contest." This programme consisted of three rounds. The first round was mathematical, simple logical reasoning questions among 36 students.Among these, 15 top-marked students were taken to the second round, where they are divided into three groups, consisting of 3 students each and they are given a 10-minute skit based on the topic 'How to solve problems in the workplace?' All the teams did an amazing job, and Group No. 1 was selected for the third round. In the third round, each of the 5 students performed individually and was given an interview session. In that session, Dr. Renjany K.R. and Dr. Sony Mary Varghese asked questions to each student to understand and assess their leadership qualities. Ms. Sandra Saju S from Physical Science won the contest, and she was given a cash prize of Rs 501 for the first position. The prize distribution was done by Dr. Sony Mary Varghese. The programme was interesting and informative, and the students were actually participating in all sessions, and it was concluded at 01:30 pm.
