Capacity Building Programme Day 2: How to manage Stress Psychologically

The second session of the Capacity Building Programme was held on March 19, 2025, at 10:50 a.m. in the Natural Science classroom of the college. The session was held on the topic "How to Manage Stress Psychologically," led by Mr Krishnaraj R (3rd-semester M.Ed. student, Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara). He started his presentation that stress is not a situation or a conditioned form as talked about. Stress is what we think about, which makes us worried and frustrated. Stress can affect it mentally, physically, and socially. For stable and healthy stress management, he put forward some stress management measures in this session, which helped to build a balanced, healthier life. Stress is an automatic physical, mental, and emotional response to a difficult event. When used positively, it can lead to growth, action, and change. But long-term it can loosen your quality of life.

There are various psychological techniques to maintain stress management, such as regular exercise, nutrition, sleep hygiene, relaxation techniques, and mindful techniques. He identified some regular exercises such as aerobic exercise, swimming, weightlifting, walking, aerobic exercise, yoga, and stretching. He pointed out that nutrition plays a significant role in maintaining our stress management, and he insisted that nutrition food, 7-8 hours of sleeping, drinking water in maximum amount, and avoiding dehydration. He put an idea on the balanced diet in percentage form (vegetables: 40%, fiber-rich carbs: 25%, fat: 10%, and protein: 25%). Some relaxation techniques, such as yoga, meditation, and muscle relaxation, are useful to reduce stress management. There are some mindful activities such as sound therapy, tripping, engaging in hobbies, spending time with nature, and talking with families that will also help to manage stress. The session ended at 11:30 a.m.
