TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1: WEEK 1 (21.07.2025 TO 26.07.2025)

 DAY 1: 21.07.2025 MONDAY

My first day at my school internship began on this day. I arrived at the Mahatma Boys Higher Secondary School, Chennithala, at 09:15 am, and Mary Chanchal C.R. and I met the school headmistress, Mrs. Vijayalekshmi Teacher, and handed over the internship letter from the college and the attendance paper. We signed attendance for the forenoon session. Then we met our subject teachers to learn about the details of the class. Then we went to the teacher trainee room and met other teacher trainees from St. Mary's College of Teacher Education, Thiruvalla. Then, we sang the prayer song at 09:30 am. After the prayer song, we discussed the teaching practice activities in the school. My first class is at the 4th hour in Class 9B to take the unit "Human Resources for National Resources." I was nervous and confused in my first class, and I did my first class to prepare for my first class. My first class deals with the factors of production. Barter System and the Evolution of Money. My class is the challenging one, because the infrastructure, environment, and attitude among the students are entirely different from other classes. But I feel that it may try to transform through the evolutionary process. Then we distributed lunch for students with teachers and teacher trainees, and I had a substitution at Class 9C, which I utilised to analyse their English-Malayalam vocabulary skills and their writing skills. In the 7th period, I had another substitution for Class 7A, and I called upon all students to go to the school ground. In the last period, we took a rest and discussed some future activities. The school closed with a national anthem at 3:45 pm, and we signed attendance for the afternoon session. That was the end of our first day of school internship.


22.07.2025: The Government of Kerala declared a public holiday statewide due to the demise of Mr. V.S. Achuthanandhan, the former Chief Minister of Kerala. 


23.07.2025: The Government of Kerala declared a public holiday for Alappuzha District due to the demise of Mr. V.S. Achuthanandhan, the former Chief Minister of Kerala. 


24.07.2025: Karkidavavu


DAY 2: 25.07.2025 FRIDAY

09:15 am: Entered the school and marked my attendance at the headmistress's room.

09:17 am: Entered the teacher trainee room and am preparing for class.

Then I informed the headmistress and the social science teacher about my health condition, which was worse on the last day.

09:30 am: School started with a prayer song.

3rd Hour: My class on the topic " Human Resource and Human Capital" &  Population Pyramid.

4th hour: Went to Class 7A and went to the school ground for play.

12:30 am: Lunch period. Distributed lunch with teachers and teacher trainees. Signed attendance for the afternoon. 


Most of the time I was not well, and I took rest for the majority of the time. I request permission to be relieved of my duty today by 3:00 pm. 

She agrees to leave, and I leave from school before closing, at 03:00 am.


DAY 3: 26.07.2025 SATURDAY (As per Govt. Educational Calendar)

09:15 am: Entered school and marked my forenoon attendance at the headmistress's office. Then casually discussed with student teachers.

09:30 am: Prayer song and engaged with my activities.

4th Period: My Class at Class IX B but due to a lack of students and at the request of the social science teacher. I took revision on completed portions.

12:30pm: Lunch distribution and signing afternoon attendance. I ate my lunch with student teachers.

During the afternoon, I spent time writing a reflective journal, a lesson plan, and a blog. 

School closed at 03:30 pm.

The field trip for the first semester of B.Ed. Curriculum was visited in Thiruvananthapuram City on 27th September 2024. The journey started at 6:24 am from the college, and we had breakfast on the way to Nilamel, Kollam District. The trip started with the Prayer by Dr Elizabeth Joshua. Handover of Newspaper and Comic Book Subscriptions to AOMLP School, Mavelikara

On August 5, 2024, the NSS Unit of Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, gave A O M M LPS, Mavelikara, newspaper and comic book subscriptions. On August 5, 2024, the NSS Unit and Extension Cell of Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, extended their support to a community school by giving AOMMLPS, Mavelikara, subscriptions to newspapers and comic books. Together, all of the NSS volunteers planned this event. The honourable guest, Shri. Varghese Pothen officially opened a reading corner. At 10:30 am, the schoolchildren performed a prayer song to kick off the event. Rev. C.I. Jose then blessed the occasion. The event was opened by Shri.  The B.Ed. Course 2024-2026 inauguration ceremony was held at Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, on 29th July 2024. The session started at 10.30 am. Former Principal Dr. Jiby George inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Rev. C.I. Jose gave the presidential address. A brief introduction to the B.Ed. The programme was delivered by Principal Alie Mollie Verghis. A talk on Fluent Futures Communicative English was given by Ms. Archana B (Alumni and Communicative English Trainer. Felicitation was given by Aji M, Josekutty and Sangeeth S Kini. Parvathy K Pillai extended a formal vote of thanks.

"SNEHAKOOTTE" Old Age Home Visit

The National Service Scheme of the Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara organised Snehakootte, the Old age home visit to Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed at Haripad on 25th September 2024 at 10:30 am. Mr Shameer Muhammed, the Director of Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed, Haripad welcomed all volunteers and introduced the Gandhi Bhavan and its inmates. Dr Mumtas S, Programme Officer, Mr Biju David (LD Clerk, Peet Memorial Training College) and Arya A.R. (NSS Student Coordinator) delivered speeches. The Volunteers of the NSS initiated activities such as music, experience sharing, games, speeches and mimicry with the inmates of Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed. The NSS volunteers collected some goods for the inmates of Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed and it was distributed to the inmates. Oath Taking Ceremony for Dhuthi (ദ്യുതി) College Union 2024-2025

The Oath Taking Ceremony of newly elected office bearers of Dhuthi (ദ്യുതി) College Union of the Peet Memorial Training College was held on 7th November 2024 at the College Auditorium at 10:30 am. Dr Sony Mary Varghese, the Assistant Professor and the Union Advisor delivered an introductory address and announced newly elected members of the College Union. Mr Sefon Sanu Mathew took oath as the Chairman of the College Union administered by Dr Alie Molly Verghis, the College Principal. The oath/affirmation of other office bearers was administered by Mr Sefon Sanu Mathew, the College Union Chairman. Seven out of 15 officers including the Chairman took oath in the name of God and eight out of 15 took into office as affirmation. Second Semester B.Ed. Field Trip Travelogue @ Vagamon

The field trip for the second semester of the B.Ed. Curriculum was a visit to Vagamon and Paruthumpara on 12th June 2025, organised by the  Pedagogiezz (B.Ed. Batch 2024-2026)   of the Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara. The journey started at 05:25 am from the college. Sefon Sanu Mathew and Joyal Joseph were the trip coordinators, and Dr Sony Mary Varghese, Dr. Mumtas S., and Dr. Velayudhan T. Nair are the escorting teachers for this field trip.  The field trip package was arranged by Thrilok Holidays & Packages, Komalloor, Chunakara. The trip started with a prayer by Joyal Joseph (batch representative of the Dyuthi College Union) after taking attendance. As per the B.Ed. Curriculum, the School Induction Programme was held from 7th October to 14th October 2024. The Induction Programme for me was allotted at the Mahatma High School for Girls, Chennithala in the Alappuzha District with 6 other student teachers. The School Induction Programme is the programme that helps to a series of events and activities that help new student teachers adjust to their new school environment. The School Induction Programme is the opportunity to acquaint with the school environment and its functioning.  This helps the new aspirants by providing information, resources, and motivation to make them more professional and efficient in that field.
