TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE I: WEEK 12 (13.10.2025-17.10.2025)
Day 46: 13.10.2025 (Monday)
It was the first day of the 12th week of the B.Ed. First phase school Internship. I arrived at the school by 09:10 a.m. and kept my bag in the teacher trainee staff room, where I signed my forenoon attendance. I returned to the student teachers' room and discussed today's activities with the other student teachers. Then I talked with other teachers and teacher trainees about upcoming activities. The school officially started at 09:30 am with the prayer song. In the first three periods, I was engaged in the school internship activities. In the fourth period, I went to Class IX B and conducted remedial teaching related to the diagnostic test. Then I took the class on the topic 'Sex Ratio and Child Sex Ratio' of the chapter 'Demographic Trends in India' in Social Science I. It was a nice class that effectively discussed the topic. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:30 pm to 12:40 pm, and we had lunch in the student-teacher staff room. After lunch, I signed the attendance for the afternoon session. During the next two periods, I was engaged in a school internship related to activities with other teacher trainees. In the 7th and 8th period, I took the Yoga class for the students of Class IX A, where I taught Naukasana and Bhujanganasana. It was a nice experience that helped the students effectively their physical and mental health. Then the class ended at 03:45 pm with the National Anthem. I stood outside the school for the bus duty for a while, and I left school with the permission of the Headmistress.
Day 47: 14.10.2025 (Tuesday)
It was the second day of the 12th week of the B.Ed. First phase school Internship. I arrived at the school by 09:10 a.m. and kept my bag in the teacher trainee staff room, where I signed my forenoon attendance. I returned to the student teachers' room and discussed today's activities with the other student teachers. Then I talked with other teachers and teacher trainees about upcoming activities. I conducted the survey related to Drug Abuse for Atheena Jailal's project. The school officially started at 09:30 am with the prayer song. In the first two periods, I conducted a Social Science achievement test for the Class IX B students. Around 14 students attended the exam. During the third and fourth periods, I was engaged in the school internship activities. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:30 pm to 12:40 pm, and we had lunch in the student-teacher staff room. After lunch, I signed the attendance for the afternoon session. In the fifth period, I attended Class X A for a substitution and conducted a survey related to Drug Abuse for Atheena Jailal's project. In the sixth period, I assisted in distributing Payasam to the students and visited Class VIII B for school internship-related activities with other teacher trainees. During the last two periods, I was engaged in the school internship activities. The class ended at 03:30 pm with the National Anthem. I stood outside the school for the bus duty for a while, and I left school with the permission of the Headmistress at 04:45 pm after the rain.
Day 48: 15.10.2025 (Wednesday)
It was the third day of the 12th week of the B.Ed. First phase school Internship. I arrived at the school by 09:10 a.m. and kept my bag in the teacher trainee staff room, where I signed my forenoon attendance. I returned to the student teachers' room and discussed today's activities with the other student teachers. Then I talked with other teachers and teacher trainees about upcoming activities. It was the last day of the school internship for the teacher trainees from the St. Mary's Women College for Teacher Education, Thiruvalla, namely Abhija, Ansu Thomas and Karthika M.S. We had decided that the official farewell day for us (My date of the last day of my B.Ed. School Internship Phase I is October 17, 2025). The school officially started at 09:30 am with the prayer song. In the first two periods, I went to Class IX B for the substitution and taught the portion Life Expectancy and Population Age Structure of the Chapter "Demographic Trends in India". It was an average experience, which helped to understand the concept related to the population. In the third period, I did my school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I conducted the Social Science Achievement Test for the few absentees on the last day. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:30 pm to 12:40 pm, and we had lunch in the student-teacher staff room. After lunch, I signed the attendance for the afternoon session. Then we (teacher trainees) went to different classrooms and distributed gifts for students for the farewell, and we got small gifts from students as a token of love. During the fifth and sixth periods, I went to Class IX B and continued to Achievement test for a few other students. Then I taught a few portions of the Population Age Structure. In the last two periods, I continued to complete my school internship-related activities. The school working day ended at 03:30 pm The School Staff Council organised the official farewell meeting for the teacher trainees, and Mrs Vijayalekshmi K., the school Headmistress and other teachers felicitated the teacher trainees for their future life and academic life. The teacher trainees, including me, responded to their good words and advice for us. The refreshment was distributed for teachers and teacher trainees at the end of the meeting, and they captured pictures with the teachers. I left the school with the teacher trainees at 04:45 pm.
16.10.2025 (Thursday): The District Collector of Alappuzha declared a public holiday for educational institutions and the government offices in Mavelikara Taluk due to Vetticode Aayillam.
Day 49: 17.10.2025 (Friday)
It was the fourth day of the 12th week of the B.Ed. First phase school Internship. It was the final day of my First Phase of School Internship. I arrived at the school by 09:00 a.m. and kept my bag in the teacher trainee staff room, where I signed my forenoon attendance. I returned to the staffroom and started today's school internship-related activities. As part of the Birthday of the student of Class VII A, he gifted the vegetables to the Headmistress. I clicked the picture on this occassion with his mother. The school officially started at 09:30 am with the prayer song by the Upper Primary students. In the first period, I was engaged in the school internship-related activities. In the second period, I had a substitution at Class VIII B, and I engaged the students by conducting a small quiz competition related to current affairs. In the third period, I went to Class IX B and I introduced the topic 'Dependency Ratio and Population Dividend' of the Chapter of the Chapter "Demographic Trends in India". It was an average experience, which helped to understand the concept related to the population. Then I spoke about my feedback on the achievement test and overall class experience. In the fourth period, I resumed my school internship-related activities. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch for students in the school from 12:30 pm to 12:40 pm, and we had lunch in the staff room. After lunch, I signed the attendance for the afternoon session. I met the option teacher, Mrs Jyothi K.S. and collected the Class observation rating scale and signed by the Headmistress on my attendance sheet and sealed the school and Headmistress's seals. Then I enveloped these two documents to maintain secrecy. Then I discussed with my teacher about the portions related to the second phase school internship. During the next two periods, I engaged to school-related activities like notes for Malayalam medium students in the Social Science textbook. In the sixth period, I got a substitution in Class IX A and I allowed them for the Physical education in the school ground. In the seventh period, I got a substitution in Class VI A and I allowed them for the Physical education in the school ground. In the last period, I had the bus duty for the students till 03:30 pm. The school working day ended at 03:30 pm due to a staff meeting. Then I left the school at 03:45 pmwith the permission of the Headmistress and the teacher, and they felicitated me for the fruitful B.Ed. activities. It was an end of my First phase of my School Internship. I enjoyed the school life very much with mixed emotions...
