TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE II: WEEK 5 (12.01.2026-16.01.2026)
Day 14: 12.01.2026 (Monday)
It was the first day of the fifth week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:15 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. Six student teachers from St. Mary's Women's College for Teacher Education, Thiruvalla, participated in a one-month school induction programme covering various subjects. The day began with the school assembly at 9:30 a.m. This assembly observed two significant days: National Youth Day on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and Deworming Prevention Day. Students of Class VIII B initiated the Assembly by singing the prayer song, National Pledge, news headlines, a speech related to the observance of the day and so on. The School Headmistress addressed the assembly. Then I again went to meet the newly joined student teachers and explained briefly about the activities and daily routine in the school. In the first three periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I taught the topic 'Gender Stereotype' under the Chapter 'Towards a Gender-Neutral Society' under the Social Science I. Students engaged in the class and discussed how Gender Stereotype was developed in society. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch to the students, and I returned to the staffroom and had my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers and newly joined student teachers. Then, from the fifth to eighth periods, I was engaged in school-internship-related activities. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:45 pm, and I went to Class IX B for the PTA meeting and addressed the parents related to the class performance. I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:55 pm.
Day 15: 13.01.2026 (Tuesday)
It was the second day of the fifth week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:15 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first three periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I went to Class IX B and provided a revision related to the current topic. It was a good experience where students actively participated in the revision. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch to the students, and I returned to the staffroom and had my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. In the fifth period, I was engaged in school internship-related activities and visited the school store to make arrangements for textbooks. In the seventh and eighth periods, I went for the school bus duty. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:55 pm, and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:55 pm.
Day 16: 14.01.2026 (Wednesday)
It was the third day of the fifth week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:15 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first three periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the second and third periods, I escorted UP-level students to the eye protection camp organised by the Royal Lions Club, Mannar, in association with Mahatma Girls' HS, Chennithala. Students actively attended the programme, and some of them needed the spectacles based on a scientific examination. In the fourth period, I visited Class IX B and delivered a class on the topic 'Language and Gender Stereotype' from the chapter 'Towards a Gender-Neutral Society'. It was an average experience where students actively participated in the class. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch to the students, and I returned to the staffroom and had my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. In the fifth period, I was engaged in the school internship-related activities. In the sixth period, I again went to Class IX B and again taught the class on the topic'Gender Based Violence' in the chapter 'Towards a Gender-Neutral Society'. It was an average experience where students actively participated in the class. In the seventh period. I was engaged in the school internship-related activities and involved in school bus duty in the eighth period. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:55 pm, and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:55 pm.
Day 17: 15.01.2026 (Thursday)
It was the fourth day of the fifth week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:20 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first three periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I visited Class IX B and delivered a class on the topic 'A World Free of Gender Discrimination and Gender in the Constitution' from the chapter 'Towards a Gender-Neutral Society'. It was an average experience where students actively participated in the class. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch to the students, and I returned to the staffroom and had my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. In the fifth and sixth periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. During the seventh period, I got a substitution at Class V A and initiated the cleaning in the classroom. In the last period, I took on the bus duty until the end of the working day. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:45 pm, and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:50 pm.
Day 18: 16.01.2026 (Thursday)
It was the fourth day of the fifth week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:20 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first two periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the third period, I went to Class IX B and provided a class on the topic 'Introduction to Indian Coasts' in the chapter 'Along the Coasts'. It was an average experience where students actively participated in the class. The topic was discussed on the features and significance of the Indian coastal region. In the fourth period, I remained in the school-internship activity and also engaged to help uniform measurements for the first year NCC cadets from Class VIII A and B divisions. Then I went to the kitchen and distributed lunch to the students, and I returned to the staffroom and had my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. In the fifth to seventh periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. I helped with uniform measurements for the first year NCC cadets from Class VIII C, Class IX A and Class IX B divisions. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:30 pm, and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:30 pm.
