TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE II: WEEK 7 (27.01.2026-31.01.2026)
26.01.2026 (Monday): Republic Day (Holiday for Schools).
Day 26 (27.01.2026)
It was the first day of the seventh week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:20 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first two periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I went to Class IX B for the substitution and conducted the Achievement Test on three chapters, worth 25 marks. 18 out of 28 students wrote their answers in the answer scripts, and it continued till 12:10 pm (the first part of the fourth period). During the second period, I was engaged in the school-internship-related activities. Then I went to the kitchen, distributed lunch to the students, and returned to the staffroom to have my lunch. The lunch was a special one sponsored by two teachers on the birthday of their kids. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. Then I was engaged in the school discipline duty during the lunch interval. In the fifth period, I was engaged in the school internship-related activities. In the sixth period, the student teachers and staff initiated to distribute payasam in various classes sponsored by two teachers on the birthday of their kids. In the seventh and first phase of the eighth period, I was engaged in the bus duty. Then I returned to the staffroom and continued the school internship-related activities. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:30 pm due to a staff meeting, and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:50 pm.
Day 27 (28.01.2026)
It was the second day of the seventh week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:20 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first three periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I visited Class IX B and taught a class on the topic 'Population and Economic Activities & Challenges faced by Coastal Region' from the chapter 'Along the Coasts'. It was an average experience where students actively participated in the class. The topic was discussed on the features and significance of the Population and Economic activities in the Coastal region and their challenges. Then I went to the kitchen, distributed lunch to the students, and returned to the staffroom to have my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. In the fifth period, I was engaged in the school internship-related activities. During the sixth period, I again went to Class IX B and taught 'Coastal Landform' from the chapter 'Along the Coasts', which I skipped for the detailed explanation. It was an average experience where students actively participated in the class. In the seventh and first phase of the eighth period, I was engaged in the bus duty. Then I returned to the staffroom and continued the school internship-related activities. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:45 pm, and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:50 pm.
Day 28 (29.01.2026)
It was the third day of the seventh week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:20 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first three periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I visited Class IX B and gave notes on the chapter 'Along the Coasts'.Then I went to the kitchen, distributed lunch to the students, and returned to the staffroom to have my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. During the fifth and sixth periods, I was engaged in the school-internship-related activities. In the seventh and first phase of the eighth period, I was engaged in the bus duty. Then I returned to the staffroom and continued the school internship-related activities. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:45 pm, and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 3:50 pm.
Day 29 (30.01.2026)
It was the fourth day of the seventh week of my school internship. I entered the school at 9:20 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first two periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. Then the students and teachers make silence for one minute of silence on the commeration on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In the third period, I went to Class IX B and taught the initial portions of the Chapter 'Price and Market' in the subject Social Science II. During the fourth period, I was engaged in school-internship-related activities. Then I went to the kitchen, distributed lunch to the students, and returned to the staffroom to have my lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. Then I went to classes for the official farewell to students and distributed gifts to them. During the fifth and sixth periods, I was again engaged in school internship-related activities. In the seventh and first phase of the eighth period, I was engaged in the bus duty. Then I returned to the staffroom and continued the school internship-related activities. The school closed with the National Anthem at 3:45 pm. The student teachers took a group photo for the rememberance and I left the school with the permission of the Headmistress at 4:00 pm.
Day 30 (31.01.2026)
It was the fifth day of the seventh week of my school internship, which was a special working day declared by the Department of General Education, Government of Kerala. I entered the school at 9:20 am, signed my forenoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then went to the staffroom, where I had a casual conversation with the teachers. The school officially started after the prayer song. During the first three periods, I was engaged in school internship-related activities. In the fourth period, I went to Class IX B and talked with students about their future and shared my thoughts on it. Then I went to the staff meeting for the farewell. Respected Headmistress and other teachers wish us for the teaching life and personal life. We gifted gifts to the Headmistress and our concerned teachers for their sincere effort and support for us. Then I had lunch. After lunch and utensil cleaning, I signed the afternoon attendance in the Headmistress's room, and then I went to the Staffroom and had a casual conversation with the teachers. During the fifth period, I was engaged in the school-internship-related activities. In the sixth period, I went to Class VIII C for the last substitution. The school was closed at 03:00 pm, and we left the school forever at 03:45 pm. That was the end of our school internship in two phases.
